I mostly prefer inserting my favicons manually :) i mean, it doesn't even take that much of a time :)

@Zubair, I think you are talking about the plug-in that adds a favicon in Wordpress , yes you can add it manually and easily but this plug-in adds them to your feeds as well. Very helpful if you are not that familiar with technical things.
